Dr. Jose Luis Araux Selected as Superintendent
After conducting an extensive search which included gathering input from community members and employees, the Perris Union High School District Board of Trustees is pleased to announce Dr. Jose Luis Araux as the new Superintendent.
Dr. Araux is a distinguished educator and leader with over two decades of experience in education. Araux's journey in education began with a strong foundation in law and education from Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa and Escuela Normal Superior de Sinaloa in Mexico. He furthered his expertise with multiple advanced degrees from esteemed institutions, including a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne. He has excelled in both teaching and administrative roles. As a principal, he significantly improved academic performance at multiple schools and earned numerous accolades, including High School Principal of the Year in 2017. Araux's career also includes serving as a Trustee and Board President in the Perris Union High School District. His commitment to education and leadership is reflected in his active involvement in professional organizations such as ACSA, CALSA, CSBA, and CLSBA.
Board President Edward Garcia commented that "Dr. Araux has a solid record of administrative achievements, demonstrates strong leadership, and his life story serves as an inspiring example for our community." Board Member Anthony Stafford, Sr. said, "Dr. Araux resides in the community, his children attended PUHSD schools, and he often speaks about how the education they received here set high expectations and played a key role in their success.
