Open Enrollment

The 25-26 Open Enrollment Period runs from May 5th-May 23rd

The open enrollment period is your opportunity to make changes to your medical, dental, or vision plans, as well as to enroll or change the available voluntary plans. Changes are effective July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026. If you do not wish to make changes to your benefits, no actions are required.

Health Fair:

  • In-person Health Fair returns! - We are holding our Health Fair in-person in the Heritage High School gym on May 8th from 2 - 5 PM! Stop by to visit with a variety of vendors to learn about the benefits available to you.

Plan updates and Resources:

  • Certificated and Charter employees will have an additional Kaiser plan option, with the HMO 30 plan being added for the upcoming year. This plan offers similar coverage to the HMO 20 plan, but with slightly increased copayments and a lower monthly premium.
  • Anthem Dental Plan Enhancement - Effective July 1, 2025, the Anthem PPO dental plan will have two new benefits at no additional cost to members. Whitening and occlusal (mouth) guards will now be covered, aligning with the enhancements made to the Delta Dental PPOs last year.
  • VSP Vision Plan Enhancement - Effective July 1, 2025, the VSP vision plan will include several enhancements at no additional cost to members. Frame and contact allowances will be increased to $150. Additionally, UV protection and an increase in standard out-of-network allowances will be included.
  • New for Anthem HSA Members - As a result of updated legislation, the current Health Savings Account (HSA 1600) plan will see an increase in the deductible from $1,600 individual/$3,200 family to $1,650 individual/$3,300 family effective July 1, 2025. Therefore, the HSA 1600 plan will now be referred to as the HSA 1650 plan.
  • Change in EAP Provider - Effective July 1, 2025, ComPsych EAP will be providing our EAP services, offering enhanced support and resources for our employees. If you are currently receiving care through the EAP with an Anthem provider, your care will continue through the end of the authorized number of visits, and you will need to receive a new referral through ComPsych for any new EAP visits.
  • Change in Life Insurance Provider - Effective July 1, 2025, your Metlife Life and Accidental Death policies will now become insured with Madison National Life. This change will not affect rates, existing policies or benefit amounts, and all current policies will carry over to Madison National Life. 
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - This benefit, now administered by ComPsych, is for all employees of the district and immediate family members living in your household, even if you are not enrolled in or eligible for benefits. ComPsych EAP will provide confidential counseling, expert guidance and valuable resources to help you navigate life's challenges.
  • Omada Health - a wellness platform that replaces both the Anthem HealthFitness and the Kaiser Wellness Rewards programs. Omada will be offered to PUHSD employees enrolled in Anthem Blue Cross or Kaiser Permanente who qualify to participate and will focus on diabetes/hypertension and weight management.

  • Make changes to medical, dental, and vision plans
  • Make changes to Madison National Life insurance, Madison National AD&D insurance, MetLife Legal plan, Colonial Hospital Indemnity plan and ID Theft Recovery Plan
  • Add/remove dependents
  • Make changes to beneficiaries

Cash Option

  • The Duplicate Medical Coverage form must be submitted during each open enrollment with copies of your current health insurance card.
