Growing up, I dreamed of becoming a teacher, and on a college personality test, my highest score was “High School English teacher,” so I am living my dream. I have been teaching for four decades – 20 years in the Perris Union High School District (Paloma 10 years, Heritage 4 years, and California Military Institution 7 years). This year I will be teaching Academic English Elective IV, Academic English Elective III, Senior, and Junior CSU Expository Reading and Writing.
I graduated from Life Pacific Bible college with a Bachelor of Religious Education. I continued my education at Vanguard University and graduated with a Bachelor of English. I earned my Secondary English Teaching credential from California State University, San Bernardino. Finally, I earned a Master's Degree in Education from Grand Canyon University. I have a myriad of training certificates, which is evidence of my continuing education and updating my teaching strategies.
My husband David is a retired pastor, and we just celebrated our 48th anniversary. We have two daughters, Lori an Assistant Principal, and Jodi who is self-employed. We also have a ten-year-old granddaughter Mikel’ and a thirteen-year-old grandson Jayden. I especially want to recognize my 103-year-old Uncle Virgil who served in WWII.
I look forward to seeing many of my returning students and families as well as meeting my new students and their families. Please feel free to connect with me, so together we will make this year great with positive learning experiences for all your children.
