Heritage High School: Room L-210

My name is Mayra De La O and I am super excited to embark in this learning experience together! I have been a Math teacher for twelve years. Three of which were at a Middle School in San Bernardino and nine of which are here at Heritage High School. This school year I will be teaching Algebra 1 and Geometry.

First of all, I would like to share a little bit about myself. I am very proud to say that I am actually a product of Perris Unified High School District. I graduated from Perris High School in 2005 and then went on to further my education at the University of California in Riverside. There I graduated with a Bachelors in Mathematics in 2009 and my Masters in Education and Teaching Credential in 2010.

During my free time I love to go camping, hiking, horseback riding, and go for evening runs, hence why I am actually one of the cross-country coaches here at Heritage High School. In addition, I love to travel and during the past years I have had the opportunity to explore some amazing places such as Japan, Vietnam, Israel, Italy, and the Dominican Republic. I enjoy spending time with my family and running around with my nieces and nephews.

I love teaching math and believe that every student should be given an opportunity to learn and grow. My goal is to instill in my students my passion for math and help them see the importance of mathematics in their lives. I look forward to this school year and I am excited to grow along my students!
