Mrs. Allen

Welcome!

I am Mrs. Allen and I am starting my 10th year teaching. I spent my first 5 years teaching at Pinacate Middle School and this is my 4th year at Paloma Valley High School as a math (Algebra 1)  and AVID (grade 11) teacher. Prior to becoming a teacher I was a substitute teacher and AVID tutor for the district. I am a proud Paloma grad, class of 2008. I love working for PUHSD, and I really love being a Wildcat.  

I got my BA from Arizona State University in 2012 and my Single Subject Math credential and Masters in Education in 2013. 

I love teaching math as it was a subject that I did not always understand easily, but with the help of great teachers I excelled.  I want to help all my students do the same. AVID has my heart as a teacher and nothing is better than watching my AVID students reach goals and make themselves proud. The feeling of community in my AVID classes brings me much joy. I am eager to get to know all of my students for the 2023-2024 school year.

Besides my work life, I am a mom to two young boys (ages 6 and 8) and married to my high school sweet heart. My hobbies include running, cooking and baking, and gardening.
