Greetings!
My name is Mariella Garay and I have been teaching Spanish for the last eighteen years and it has been a rewarding and fulfilling experience. I received my undergraduate degree at California State University of Fullerton and I have a Masters of education from the University of La Verne and a Masters in Spanish Literature from California Sate University of San Marcos. In my free time, I love to travel to new places, read, listen to music, and spend time with my family exploring the great outdoors. I have two young daughters that keep me extremely busy but fill my heart with so much happiness and joy!
I have worked as a Spanish Teacher at Perris Unified School district since 2006 and I have had many different roles during that time such as mentor teacher for new teachers and department chair for World Languages. In addition I also coached soccer and basketball for the girls' teams. This year, I am very excited to be teaching at Liberty High School and be able to apply my expertise.
I am very happy to have you as a student this school year, to help you learn and explore a new language. I am here to help you reach your academic goals. This academic year 2022-2023, I will be teaching Spanish 1, Spanish II, and Spanish 3 Honors. The learning management systems I will be using for my classroom is Canvas and VHL central.
