Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year.  

My name is Mrs. Huerta and I am one of the AVID Coordinators at Heritage High School.  I am lucky enough to be a part of our amazing AVID program.  We have been an AVID National Demonstration School for 8 years now.  AVID's College and Career Readiness System at Heritage has helped students prepare for the rigors of college and life after high school. This year I will be teaching all of the AVID 11 classes.

After graduating from PUHSD, I attended UCLA (Go Bruins!) and earned my Bachelor's Degree in History.  I returned home and received my Teaching Credential and Master's in Education from UCR (Go Highlanders!).  I have been at Heritage (Go Patriots!) since the school opened and I have loved every minute of it.

I will be using Canvas for all of my classes.  Please check my Canvas page and your emails regularly for important announcements, assignments, and information.

I am looking forward to a successful year with each and every one of my students. Let's make the most of the opportunities we are given!
