Welcome to The Paloma Valley High School Automotive Technology Program. My name is Mr. Browning, and I will be teaching the Automotive Service Technician 1&2 as well as coaching football for the 2020-2021 school year. I graduated from Barstow High School in Barstow, California, and later went on to play football at Citrus College in Glendora, California. After playing two years of football at the junior college level, I received an athletic scholarship to play football at the University of New Mexico Highlands in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
I got into the automotive/mechanical trade in 2003, where I started working for the Department of Defence as a Marine Diesel Mechanic for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard. After spending five years working with the U.S. Government, I moved to Canada to pursue a career as a Commercial Transport Mechanic and later to work my way into operations management. After spending 13 years plus in the automotive trade, I decided to get into education. I started working in alternative education in Canada, where I was involved with careers education. I also served as a mentor to a group of young men in the alternative school setting as well as coaching football at Abbotsford Senior Secondary.
After moving back to California in 2018, I had another career change that landed me at Paloma Valley High School for the 2019-2020 school year. This year I am going into my second year of teaching and Paloma Valley High School, and I am looking forward to building a healthy and fruitful automotive program where students can get a better understanding of how cars work.
