Welcome, Wildcats!  It is the beginning of one of the greatest, most formative  years of your life, and I am so happy to help guide you through it while encouraging you to be the best version of your true self.   It will be my pleasure to send you off as prepared writers, polished readers, confident speakers, and positive thinkers!

I am a daughter, aunt, friend, 11th grade English and AVID teacher, wife, and finally momma to three very amazing humans- two daughters and one son.  They are already making the world a better place.  We all enjoy traveling, snowboarding, hiking, biking and any other outdoor activity. Going to the high school lacrosse and football  games to cheer on our son is the highlight of my evenings right now!

When I am at school, I treat my students the way I expect teachers to treat my own children- kindly, respectfully, and with highly set expectations. Preparing you for College or Career, and where to find the best hikes (or best frozen yogurt) are some of my greatest passions!

Earning my Bachelor's Degree at Waynesburg University in Pennsylvania (English- Secondary Education), and my masters at Cal State University, Fullerton was not the end of my education. Being a lifelong learner, I have taken many classes over the summers in person and online at Cal State University, San Bernardino and at Auburn University to keep myself challenged. Being married to a retired Marine has taken my family on many adventures in this great country, and has afforded me the opportunity to make friends in many states as well as teaching English in four of them. This is my 25th year of teaching and I thoroughly enjoy the diversity of each day. Mentoring the many delightful personalities of the busy, creative, and bright students of our future just gets better every year.  With your partnership, effort, and respect our year will be smooth, successful, and memorable.  Most importantly, I am here for you!

You will find my Syllabus on the homepage of my Canvas Courses.

A weekly calendar and lessons will be on Canvas.  You will know exactly what to do by reading my Remind text messages, viewing the "TO DO" list on Canvas, utilizing your planner, and visiting my Home Page on Canvas labeled  "Weekly Assignments". (Post-its)
