Hello!
My name is Leah Malana and I am so excited to get to know each of my students this coming school year! This is my 7th year teaching mathematics at Heritage High School. For the 2021-2022 school year, I will be teaching Algebra 2.
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself.
I graduated with my B.S. in Mathematics in 2013 from California Baptist University (CBU- Live Your Purpose) and I continued my education with CBU and graduated with a Masters in Education and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in 2015. During my free time, my husband and I enjoy watching movies, going on bike rides, and cooking. I also really enjoy making cookies and cupcakes.
In order to be successful in my class it is vitally important that students take responsibility for their learning and do their best, try every day, and be willing to ask for help. I encourage my students to believe in themselves and to understand that just because they do not understand the math YET, it doesn't mean they will never understand. It just means that more time, practice, and/or explanation is needed to be successful. I want all my students to do well and I'm here to help.
I look forward to working with you this school year! Have a great day!
Leah Malana
