I started teaching in my own classroom in 1998 at Antelope Valley High School, Villa Park High School 2000-2005, Citrus Hill High School 2005-2007, and started at Perris High School in 2007. My wife is a second-grade teacher and I have 2 daughters. One of my daughters is a second-grade teacher too and the other one is a tenth-grader. My parents were also teachers. Student Learning Outcomes & Objectives

Student Learning Outcomes/Essential Learning Standards

The Transition Partnership Program (TPP) and the Transitions class assist students in making successful transitions from school to independent adult life. Students with needs work with a special education teacher learning about careers and the transition activities and programs that are available to them.

The TPP students (grade 12) will also work with RCOE (Riverside County Office of Education) and with DOR (Department of Rehabilitation) to apply for possible services after high school.

Class Expectations

Students are expected to arrive to class each day on time and be in their seats before the tardy bell rings so that they can begin working on the posted warm-up activity.  Students are expected to bring the necessary supplies to class each day. Finally, students are expected to engage themselves in all class activities from bell to bell that are outlined on the whiteboard with hopes of earning appropriate academic and behavior grades.

Conduct

  1. Be respectful to yourself, others, & school property

  2. Listen & follow directions

  3. Complete all classwork in a timely manner

  4. Raise your hand for permission to speak or to get out of your seat

  5. No gum or eating/drinking in class

  6. Limit your cellphone use

Any major offense by the student will result in the student being sent to the office immediately, which could lead to poor academic & citizenship grades & possible removal from the class.

  1.  teacher/student discussion    2. teacher/parent discussion & detention     3. referral

Absences

Because skills are sequentially developed, it is important that students are in class to receive the lessons and guided practice. If absent, a student must clear the absence and come before or after school to receive the missed work. There may be packets or worksheets that can be used as a substitute for missing work.

Any assignments due on the day the student is absent will be due the day the student returns. Any scheduled exams or quizzes must be taken on the scheduled re-take day or after school on the day the student returns.

Grading Policy

Your grade will be based on:     Class Work 50%     Exams 30%      Quizzes 20%
