The Perris Union High School District together with Gears 2 Robots is pleased to announce the first ever educational Robotics Program. It is the vision of the district to raise the standards of all students and to provide them with opportunities to excel and achieve advanced levels of learning. The Robotics Program covers all areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). As we move towards closing the achievement gap, students will have access to participate in this program that will build their academic skills, team work, self-esteem, and expand their creativity.

The Robotics Program is currently being offered as an after school program at Heritage High School, Paloma Valley High School, Perris High School, and Pinacate Middle School. The program consists of approximately three hours per week for 12 weeks culminating in the 1st Annual Robotics Competition sponsored by the district. The first six weeks students will learn about movement, sensors, flow control, calibration, and basic programming using Mindstorms NXT. The next six weeks students will be training for competition using Tetrix and Robot C programming language.

But wait it doesn't stop there! With our business partner Gears 2 Robots, we will be sending teams of students to the FIRST Lego Competition to compete with thousands of other students from all over the world for an opportunity to apply for over the $14 million dollars available in scholarships and prizes.

It is a very exciting time for staff and students and if you are interested in learning more about our Robotics Program you may contact any of the following staff members:
