Pinacate Middle School
Soccer Club (Club de Futbol)
About the Club:
The Soccer Club at Pinacate Middle School is open to boys and girls, both in 7th grade and 8th grade. The aim of the club is to provide participants with the opportunity to play soccer, and to improve their skills and fitness as these relate to the game.
Participants in the club MUST maintain a 2.0 GPA, and be in continuous good-standing with EACH of his or her teachers. The Club seeks students who are role models for the rest of the student population - students who are responsible, respectful, and good-spirited. Students must fill-out and return a permission slip (also signed by a parent) to play. A medical waiver is not necessary, since we do not play other schools. We do, however, play for the Pinacate Cup - a campus-wide tournament that runs twice per year.
The Pinacate Middle School Soccer Club is in session from October - March, and sometimes through April - and boys and girls each play at least once per week. Students who sign-up are expected to attend every scheduled practice.
About the Coach:
I have played soccer for over 30 years. I have played at all levels: club, high school, college, semi-professionally and professionally. I have also coached in a variety of settings, including youth select teams, high school and invitational academies. I am an avid follower of the international game, and am up-to-date on current styles of play, and outstanding players and teams.
