Perris Union High School District

An AP® Achievement District

District Profile

Welcome to Perris Union High School District...

In our high school district, we have a vision for the 21st Century... our young people are headed for new horizons, and we want to help them get there!

It's called education!
And it's about people...

Our schools are people:

People who come to school to learn:
the students

People who share their knowledge and their love of learning:
the teachers

People who encourage and support the students and schools:
the parents and the community

People who plan, create and maintain the right setting for learning:
the board, staff and administration.

People make our district. Our teachers are a most caring staff. Outstanding teachers are recruited from throughout the nation and being invited to share their expertise over a wide region.Nearly half of theover 800 employees are well-trained support staff.

The Board of Trustees and administration actively support staff development, encourage participation in workshops, conferences and in-services. Regularly scheduled staff development days provide the opportunities for certificated and classified staff to remain current on issues pertinent to education, as well as mandated in-servicing.

We are on the forefront of the computer age, recognized as leaders in the field. We have over 2000 computers in our school district and a completely online Charter School. Endeavoring to continue on the "cutting edge", we are online at all of our school sites.

Grounds and buildings are continually upgraded using grants and funding to provide the best resources possible. Finally labs, modern industrial shops and equipment, excellent libraries -- our students have access to all of them. Currently, the district is in the middle of a $40 million construction program for new classrooms.

The Perris Union High School District system mirrors life in this diverse and rapidly growing community. People get involved. Their rewards come when they see a student's face light up with a new idea, or with the satisfaction of knowing they've helped provide opportunities which could not otherwise be offered.

The Perris Union High School District educates about 10,000 secondary and middle school students who live in Perris Valley. The Perris Valley, approximately 184 square miles, is a blend of rural, suburban and rapidly developing commercial neighborhoods. The continued growth of this Riverside County community is due to its location, mild climate and affordable housing, which is attracting residents from outlying counties and states.

Educational, cultural and recreational centers are within easy driving distance. Perris is a well-known center for sky diving and hot air ballooning; nearby lakes offer water sports; and beaches, mountains and deserts are but an hour away. Higher education opportunities are provided through:

  • University of California in Riverside
  • Riverside Community College (campuses located in Norco and Moreno Valley)
  • California State University, San Bernardino
  • Mt. San Jacinto Community College (campuses in San Jacinto and Menifee)
  • California Baptist University

Los Angeles and San Diego are accessible for cultural and other metropolitan events.
