Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to English Language Arts 8and AVID Excel! I am Mr. De Vicente and it is my pleasure to help guide students through the Common Core Standards grade level 8. This is my seventh year with PUHSD and my sixth year at Pinacate Middle School. Students will need to have basic tools for success as well as high academic expectations in order to be successful. Success in English Language Arts at the middle school level will provide the necessary foundation for English I, II, III, and IV at the high school level. In AVID Excel, students will learn critical skills needed to prepare for AVID in high school.

I am a father of two awesome kids and have been married for 19 years. This is my second career, I spent fifteen years in the private sector. I currently hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, a Single Subject K-12 Teaching Credential/English from Chapman University, and a Master of Arts in Education in Educational Administration.

Please contact me through email or at the number below if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for supporting your students!

Respectfully,
